Boris FX announced the acquisition of iZotope, an audio production technology company known for intelligent audio tools including RX, Ozone, Neutron, and Nectar. The deal positions Boris FX as a broader provider of professional tools across audio and video post-production.
Boris FX is an Academy and Emmy Award-winning visual effects software developer used by more than 1 million creators worldwide. iZotope’s audio production tools have also received major industry recognition, including one Academy Award and two Emmy Awards.
iZotope products are used by major studios, post-production houses, and broadcast facilities. Its RX platform is widely used for audio repair and restoration across film and television production, while Ozone has been a major music mastering tool for more than 20 years.
The acquisition expands Boris FX’s existing professional audio portfolio. That lineup includes Samplitude, Sequoia, Sound Forge, Acid Pro, Music Studio, and AI-driven CrumplePop.
Boris FX said iZotope’s machine learning research and product portfolio deepen its capabilities in smart audio technology. The combination gives the company a more comprehensive platform for music, film, television, and content creation.
All iZotope products, licenses, and subscriptions will remain active. The company said support and product development will continue without interruption.
iZotope will operate as a business unit within Boris FX. Its core engineering, product, and support teams will remain in place to ensure continuity for customers.
The iZotope deal continues Boris FX’s strategy of uniting best-in-class creative technology. The coordinated transaction occurred alongside inMusic’s acquisition of Native Instruments, which was completed on June 30, 2026; iZotope was previously part of Native Instruments.
