Berlin-based Bounti has raised €4 million in funding to develop an AI-native platform to improve operational execution across industries in the physical economy. The round was led by Ventech, with participation from IBB Ventures, Robin Capital, Common Magic, Festina, and a group of angel investors.
The company is focused on sectors such as restaurants, retail, hospitality, and services, where millions of frontline employees still rely on fragmented systems like messaging apps, paper-based processes, and informal knowledge sharing. Bounti aims to address this gap by building software specifically designed for fast-paced, deskless work environments.
Bounti’s platform uses AI agents to continuously monitor operations across multiple locations, identify where execution standards are falling short, diagnose underlying issues, and take action. This includes assigning tasks, delivering training, and proactively pushing relevant information to employees before issues escalate.
The platform is already being used by several hospitality and retail brands, including L’Osteria, Peter Pane Burgergrill & Bar, Burgermeister, Coffee Fellows, and LANCH. Thousands of frontline employees rely on Bounti’s system for onboarding, maintaining operational standards, and coordinating communication across locations.
With the new funding, Bounti plans to expand its team across engineering, product, and sales as it continues building what it describes as the operational backbone for the physical economy, a segment where AI adoption has so far been limited compared to knowledge work environments.
KEY QUOTES
“We’re excited to announce that Bounti has raised €4M led by Ventech to build an AI-native platform for operational execution in the physical economy. As AI reshapes knowledge work, the physical economy – restaurants, retail, hotels, services – remains largely untouched. These industries employ millions of people, yet still run on WhatsApp groups, paper checklists and tribal knowledge. The software that exists was built for desks, not for an employee on a shop floor juggling five things at once with no time to open a laptop. Bounti changes that. Our agents continuously monitor execution across locations, detect where standards are slipping, understand why, and act – assigning actions, tasks, and training to the right employee, pushing critical information to teams before it becomes a problem.”
