Bow River Capital has appointed Greg Hiatrides as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding firm founder Blair Richardson, who will transition to Chairman after leading the alternative asset manager for 23 years.
Hiatrides currently serves as Head of Bow River’s Private Equity team and has been with the Denver-based firm since 2015. In his new role, he will oversee Bow River’s multi-strategy investment platform spanning private equity, private credit, real estate, and venture capital.
Richardson will remain actively involved as Chairman, focusing on investor relationships and supporting Bow River’s strategic direction.
Since founding Bow River, Richardson has overseen its evolution into a diversified alternative investment platform offering both closed-end and evergreen strategies. The firm focuses heavily on lower-middle-market opportunities and has developed a geographic emphasis on what it calls the Rodeo Region, covering 14 states across the Rocky Mountain West and Southwest.
Hiatrides brings more than 20 years of investment and advisory experience to the CEO role. Since joining Bow River, he has helped build the firm’s private equity platform and has led several of its largest and most complex transactions.
Before Bow River, Hiatrides worked at KPMG Corporate Finance, formerly St. Charles Capital. He began his investment career in New York.
As CEO, Hiatrides plans to continue emphasizing investment performance, disciplined underwriting, risk management, and long-term relationships with limited partners and portfolio company management teams.
The leadership transition is also intended to support Bow River’s long-term institutional development while maintaining continuity in the firm’s investment philosophy and culture. Richardson described the move as an important step toward building what he has called a “forever firm.”
Bow River has spent more than two decades investing across alternative asset classes and partnering with lower-middle-market companies and property owners. The firm said it intends to continue expanding its position as a scaled boutique alternative asset manager while providing investors access to complementary strategies across private markets.
