brainjo GmbH announced it has raised €2 million in seed funding to accelerate the development of virtual reality-based digital therapeutics, with an initial focus on treating children with ADHD. The round was led by HTGF High-Tech Gründerfonds, with participation from MEDICE – The Health Family, Andreas Weinhut, and angel investors from better ventures. The funding will support regulatory approval efforts for brainjo’s first VR-based Digital Health Application (DiGA), designed to be prescribed by healthcare providers and reimbursed through health insurance systems.

brainjo is developing immersive digital therapeutics that aim to complement traditional psychotherapy by addressing capacity constraints in mental healthcare, including long wait times and limited access to treatment. Its platform uses virtual reality to deliver individualized therapy experiences that can be accessed remotely, enabling scalable and patient-centric care.

The company’s approach is positioned as an extension of existing treatment pathways, allowing physicians and therapists to prescribe digital interventions that enhance outcomes while reducing system bottlenecks. By leveraging VR technology, brainjo seeks to provide engaging therapeutic environments tailored to patient needs.

The funding will also support continued product development and validation, as well as broader commercialization efforts across regulated healthcare markets.

The raise highlights growing interest in digital therapeutics and immersive technologies as solutions to address gaps in mental healthcare delivery, particularly for pediatric populations and underserved patient groups.

brainjo was also recently named a finalist for the DMEA nova Award 2026, reflecting industry recognition of its innovation in digital health.
