Branch, a workforce payments platform, has appointed Matt Peterson as chief financial officer as the company enters its next phase of growth, expanding its enterprise reach and scaling its payments infrastructure.

Peterson brings experience across accounting, investment banking and senior finance roles at high-growth technology companies. Over the course of his career, he has led and advised on more than $15 billion in transactions and played a role in taking multiple companies public, including supporting Fastly through its 2019 IPO. He later held senior finance positions at Attentive, where he worked across infrastructure- and marketplace-driven business models. Most recently, he served as CFO of Snappy, an enterprise gifting and rewards platform, helping guide the company through rapid expansion and increasing operational complexity.

At Branch, Peterson will oversee financial strategy and focus on modernizing core systems, enhancing planning capabilities and implementing scalable processes designed to support long-term, efficient growth. The company said his background in usage-based technology and product-focused financial leadership aligns with its continued push to strengthen its financial foundation while expanding access to flexible payment solutions for workers and employers.

CEO Atif Siddiqi said the appointment comes at a pivotal time as fintech, workforce technology and software markets continue to evolve. Branch has reported growth of more than 1200 percent over the last three years and has been recognized among the fastest-growing companies by Deloitte and Inc. The company serves more than 1,000 customers, including Uber, Instacart and Indeed Flex, along with franchise locations for Jimmy John’s, Dunkin’ and Marco’s Pizza.

Branch provides businesses with tools to deliver fast, flexible payment options for employees and contractors. Workers who enroll can receive a bank account, access earned wages, earn rewards and use personal finance tools to better manage cash flow between pay cycles. The company partners with organizations across hospitality, gig, vertical SaaS and staffing industries and has received recognition including a Webby Award for Best Financial Services, a FinTech Breakthrough Award, Gartner Eye on Innovation: Financial Services and Great Place to Work Certification.
