Breaking Change announced that it has secured more than £1 million in funding to accelerate growth and bring its platform closer to launch.

The financing package includes £735,000 in equity investment led by the Development Bank of Wales and Haatch, along with support from an Innovate UK Growth Catalyst grant.

The company is developing software infrastructure designed to support complex systems that power modern video games, including vehicles, weapons, progression mechanics, and in-game economies. Its platform combines simulation technology with AI-assisted authoring tools to help studios create sophisticated gameplay systems more efficiently.

The Development Bank of Wales’ Technology Venture Investments team invested £350,000 through the Wales Flexible Investment Fund, while Haatch contributed £285,000. Additional participants in the round included Saola Ventures and games industry angel investor Dr. Tomas Rawlings.

Breaking Change also received earlier support from Media Cymru, Innovate UK, the UK Games Fund, and the Royal Academy of Engineering.

The new capital will be used to expand the company’s team, advance its simulation and AI research and development efforts, and begin pilot projects with game studios during 2026. The company plans to use these pilot programs to test its platform with development teams as it moves toward commercialization.
