Breedr Raises $27 Million Series B As Platform Tracks 2+ Million Cattle And Nearly $500 Million In Livestock Transactions

Breedr has raised $27 million in Series B funding to expand its digital livestock platform as the company works to build a global system of record for the beef supply chain. Partech led the financing through its impact fund, with participation from Latitude, the growth-stage fund of seed investor LocalGlobe, and existing investor Outsiders Fund, which led Breedr’s Series A. The round brings Breedr’s total funding to $46.6 million.

Breedr plans to use the capital to expand its team, bring additional ranchers and farmers onto the platform and capture more information about individual animals, including genomic data.

Partech General Partner Arnaud Minvielle and Latitude’s Remus Brett will join Breedr’s board.

More than two million cattle are already tracked through Breedr, and nearly $500 million of livestock has been transacted through the platform during 2026.

Customers range from family-owned ranches to larger operators handling more than 100,000 cattle annually.

Breedr creates a digital record for each animal that can follow it through the beef supply chain, including the multiple farms and ranches a cow may pass through before reaching market.

Records can incorporate information such as weight, health and family history.

The company is targeting a cattle industry that still relies heavily on paper records despite increasingly tight supply conditions.

The U.S. cattle herd entered 2026 at its lowest level since 1951, while this year’s calf crop is projected to be the smallest on record.

Breedr believes more detailed data can help producers generate more value from each animal as beef demand continues rising.

The company’s marketplace also enables producers to sell cattle using digital records rather than relying solely on traditional auctions where buyers assess animals visually.

Breedr’s AI-powered growth prediction model is designed to help producers identify the optimal time to sell.

A separate cattle fund managed by Breedr can also advance capital against livestock, providing producers with liquidity while they continue raising their animals.

Breedr said its data-driven approach can help cattle reach market weight as much as five months sooner than traditional approaches and generate more than $500 in additional value per animal.

The company estimates that shorter production cycles can also reduce methane emissions by approximately 20% to 30% per animal.

Breedr was founded in the U.K. in 2018 by Ian Wheal, who grew up on a cattle farm in Australia.

The company has been headquartered in Texas since 2022 and operates across the U.S., U.K. and Australia, with a growing presence in New Zealand and Europe.

Breedr ultimately aims to become the system of record across major livestock-producing regions worldwide, connecting animal data, commerce and financing across the beef supply chain.

KEY QUOTES:

“We built Breedr to bring value back to the people who raise the cattle. Demand for beef is climbing while the herd is the smallest it has been in 75 years. The industry has to get more value from every animal, and you cannot do that on paper.”

“If you have bought beef from a major retailer in the United States or UK, there is a good chance it has moved through a Breedr-powered supply chain. We already do the same in Australia and New Zealand, and this round enables us to expand connected supply chains globally, where every animal tells its own story and every producer gets paid for the quality they raise.”

Ian Wheal, Founder And CEO Of Breedr

“Beef is one of the most complex decarbonization problems there is. Breedr cuts emissions while helping producers become more profitable. Ian and the Breedr team are building the transaction layer for one of the world’s largest unmodernized markets, earning revenue every time an animal changes hands.”

“That alignment between the commercial engine and the environmental outcome is exactly what our impact fund exists to back. We truly believe that Ian, being an insider from this industry, and his team can fundamentally transform this value chain with data intelligence.”
