BRG: Acquisition Of E.CA Economics Expands European Antitrust And Competition Consulting Capabilities

By Amit Chowdhry • Apr 27, 2026

BRG announced the acquisition of E.CA Economics, a leading competition economics consultancy, strengthening its presence across Europe and enhancing its Antitrust & Competition and Regulation practices.

Founded in 2007, E.CA Economics provides advisory services on mergers, antitrust matters, damage litigation, and state aid cases. The firm employs more than 50 professionals and operates offices in Berlin, Brussels, London, and Munich, serving clients across major European markets.

The acquisition significantly bolsters BRG’s European capabilities, bringing together a highly experienced team that includes former chief economists of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition, as well as experts with experience across major regulatory bodies such as the UK Competition and Markets Authority, the US Federal Trade Commission, and the Department of Justice.

The combined team includes multiple globally recognized thought leaders in competition economics and nearly a century of collective experience working with leading competition authorities worldwide. The integration is expected to strengthen BRG’s ability to advise on complex cross-border mergers, regulatory investigations, and litigation matters.

As part of the transaction, E.CA’s leadership will take on key roles within BRG’s global Antitrust & Competition practice, contributing to a unified leadership structure across Europe and the United States. The acquisition also marks BRG’s formal expansion into Germany, further extending its regional footprint.

BRG has been consistently recognized as a leading firm in economic consulting, including being named “Outstanding” in the GCR 100: Economics 2026 rankings, marking its thirteenth consecutive year of recognition. The expanded European platform is expected to support further growth and the introduction of new services, particularly in the German market.

The move reflects broader demand for sophisticated economic analysis in regulatory and legal environments, as companies navigate increasingly complex competition frameworks and cross-border transactions.
