BRG announced that Bob Marcum has joined the firm as a managing director in its Energy & Climate practice, where he will advise clients on complex energy and infrastructure investments.

Based in Washington, DC, Marcum will focus on project and corporate finance, restructurings, due diligence, and lender program design. His appointment strengthens BRG’s capabilities as demand grows for expertise in energy transition and infrastructure financing.

Marcum brings extensive experience across both public and private sectors. He previously served in a senior leadership role at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Office, where he directed $61 billion in new loan closings for energy, critical minerals, and manufacturing projects. He also oversaw portfolio management, including restructurings and bankruptcies, for a $32 billion portfolio.

Earlier in his career, Marcum held senior roles at Saudi Aramco and the Export-Import Bank of the United States, working on power and infrastructure projects across Latin America, the Middle East, and other global markets.

At BRG, he will work alongside energy investment leaders to support clients on capital structuring, transaction execution, distressed asset strategies, and regulatory navigation, as well as broader investment decision-making and risk management.

The appointment reflects BRG’s continued investment in its Energy & Climate practice as organizations seek to deploy capital at scale and navigate increasingly complex stakeholder and regulatory environments tied to energy security and transition initiatives.
