BRG Appoints Former Saks Global CEO Marc Metrick As Managing Director In Corporate Finance

BRG has appointed Marc Metrick as Managing Director of its Corporate Finance practice, expanding its expertise in the retail and consumer industries. Based in New York, Metrick brings more than 30 years of operational, financial, and business transformation experience, including senior executive leadership at Saks Global.

The appointment follows a period of expansion for BRG’s Corporate Finance practice, which reported its strongest year on record in 2025 and has continued to invest in its advisory capabilities in 2026.

Metrick spent most of his career at Saks Global, progressing from an executive trainee to Chief Executive Officer of the multibillion-dollar luxury retailer.

His experience includes leading a major retail business through the COVID-19 pandemic and managing strategic initiatives during a period of substantial change across the luxury retail industry.

During his tenure, Metrick played an important role in separating Saks’ e-commerce business from its holding company, a transaction that established a distinct structure for the retailer’s digital operations.

He subsequently developed the operating plan for the retailer’s acquisition of another luxury retail group.

As CEO of the combined enterprise, Metrick also served on its board of directors, giving him experience in corporate governance alongside his operational leadership responsibilities.

At BRG, he will apply that background to advising organizations navigating major business transitions, restructuring initiatives, and strategic transactions.

His appointment expands the firm’s ability to support retailers and consumer businesses facing challenges involving operational performance, corporate strategy, and changing market conditions.

BRG’s Corporate Finance practice provides financial and operational advisory services to companies across multiple industries.

Its capabilities include turnaround and restructuring, performance improvement, and transaction advisory services.

The practice combines financial analysis with industry-specific operating expertise, helping clients evaluate strategic alternatives and implement changes across their businesses.

Metrick’s experience leading a major luxury retailer adds a perspective from directly managing large-scale operations and executing complex corporate initiatives.

His background is particularly relevant to assignments involving businesses undergoing transformation or evaluating changes to their operating models.

BRG has been expanding its Corporate Finance team as demand for its advisory services increases.

Following record performance in 2025, the practice has continued recruiting senior executives and industry specialists to broaden its service offerings.

The firm operates across corporate finance, economic consulting, disputes and investigations, and performance improvement.

Its professionals include financial advisors, industry executives, academic specialists, consultants, and data scientists.

Metrick will work alongside BRG’s existing Corporate Finance leadership to support clients addressing complex operational and financial challenges.
