Bridgepoint Investing In UMag Solutions

By Amit Chowdhry ● Jul 13, 2026

Bridgepoint announced that it agreed to invest in UMag Solutions, a Danish defense technology company specializing in drone-based real-time subsurface threat detection systems for land and sea. The transaction will see Bridgepoint acquire a majority stake in UMag. The company’s founders will remain significant shareholders and continue leading the business.

Founded in 2018 as a spin-out from the Technical University of Denmark, UMag is headquartered in Birkerød, Denmark. The company develops advanced drone-based detection systems that combine proprietary hardware, advanced detection algorithms, and software.

UMag’s technology is designed to deliver ultra-sensitive detection and real-time intelligence for defense operators. Its systems help identify hidden threats more accurately and quickly, supporting better decision-making and reducing risk in the field.

The company’s systems are used to detect and map landmines, unexploded ordnance, and naval mines. UMag’s technology is also used for detecting submarines and unmanned underwater vehicles.

UMag has grown rapidly as defense spending increases across Europe and allied nations. The company is benefiting from military modernization programs and rising demand for advanced mine-detection and maritime security capabilities.

UMag serves customers across NATO and allied nations. The company has also built trusted relationships with military customers and drone platform manufacturers.

Bridgepoint plans to support UMag’s next phase by helping scale its commercial organization, accelerate international expansion, strengthen strategic partnerships, and continue investing in research and development.

The investment will also support commercialization of UMag’s next generation of products. Bridgepoint said UMag operates in a growing area of defense technology as governments increase adoption of autonomous systems and advanced sensing capabilities.

The deal also builds on Bridgepoint’s track record in defense technology, including its investments in MyDefence and Comrod.

The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Bridgepoint was advised by Evercore as lead M&A advisor, EY as M&A advisor, Oliver Wyman for commercial matters, EY for financial and tax matters, and BAHR as legal advisor. UMag was advised by PwC Corporate Finance as M&A advisor, PwC TS for financial matters, and Plesner as legal advisor.
