Bridgepoint: John Dionne And Michelle Scrimgeour Named As New Independent Directors

Bridgepoint announced the appointment of John Dionne and Michelle Scrimgeour as independent non-executive directors effective July 1, 2025.

Until he retired as a Senior Managing Director of Blackstone, Dionne served as Global Head of the Private Equity Business Development and Investor Relations groups. And he first joined Blackstone as the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of the Blackstone Distressed Securities Fund. Earlier in his career, Dionne was a Partner and Portfolio Manager for Bennett Restructuring Funds, a Partner at Saugatuck Capital, and a Director of Corporate Development for a predecessor of Thermo Fisher Scientific.  He began his career at Price Waterhouse as a public accountant. He is also a senior lecturer in business administration at Harvard Business School.

Scrimgeour served as Chief Executive Officer of Legal & General Investment Management from July 2019 to December 2024.  Before joining Legal & General, Scrimgeour was Chief Executive Officer, EMEA, at Columbia Threadneedle Investments and was a member of the Executive Leadership Team of Ameriprise Financial.  Earlier in her career, she was Chief Risk Officer at M&G Investments and a Director of M&G Group Limited, which she joined in 2012 after a successful career at BlackRock. Scrimgeour has served as Deputy Chair of the Investment Association, Chair of the Technology Working Group of the UK Government’s Asset Management Taskforce, and served as a member of the FCA’s Practitioner Panel. Scrimgeour will become the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee, and John will become a member of the Audit and Risk Committee.
