Broadcast Electronics announced that it has been acquired by Boston-based investment firm The Alzana Group in partnership with CEO Rich Redmond. The transaction was structured as an asset purchase from prior owner ELENOS S.r.l. of Italy. The company will continue operating under the Broadcast Electronics name but will now do so through a new legal entity, BE Systems, Inc. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1959, Broadcast Electronics develops hardware and software used by media organizations and radio broadcasters worldwide. The company’s products include transmitter systems and enterprise-class media management software designed to help broadcasters create, distribute, and transmit audio content. Headquartered in Quincy, Illinois, Broadcast Electronics serves customers in more than 170 countries, ranging from large media conglomerates to independent radio stations.
The acquisition positions the company to accelerate innovation in broadcast technology markets, with The Alzana Group providing capital and operational support to expand products and services for radio broadcasters globally. As part of the transaction, CEO Rich Redmond will become a significant owner of the business while continuing to lead the company.
The Alzana Group, founded in 2021 by private equity executive John Danner, provides capital and operational expertise to founder- and family-owned businesses. The firm’s strategy centers on driving performance improvements, executing growth strategies, and pursuing follow-on acquisitions to expand portfolio companies.
