Broadfield announced that Ty C. Akkoyun has joined the firm as a partner in its New York corporate practice and as Chair of the firm’s Innovation Committee.
Akkoyun joins Broadfield from White & Case, where he was a member of the Global Mergers & Acquisitions practice and served as an official innovation champion for AI and automation. Broadfield is a global law firm in strategic partnership with SHP Legal Services, an Alvarez & Marsal affiliate.
Akkoyun advises private equity sponsors, corporations, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and other investors on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures, business combinations, growth equity investments, corporate governance, and related strategic matters. His practice spans several industries, with a focus on energy, infrastructure, healthcare and life sciences, technology, and diversified industrials.
Along with his transactional practice, Akkoyun will lead Broadfield’s Innovation Committee. In that role, he will help drive the firm’s practical application of artificial intelligence, automation, and process design across legal workflows.
Akkoyun has advised on a range of notable transactions for clients, including I Squared Capital, Qatar Investment Authority, Cobepa, Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, Elevance Health, CVC Capital Partners, AMETEK, and Stifel Europe.
His addition reflects Broadfield’s continued investment in legal talent and modern delivery methods designed to improve quality, speed, consistency, and client value. The firm said it continues to invest in technology, talent, and secure workflows that support collaboration across offices and help teams move matters forward with greater transparency.
Akkoyun is admitted to the New York bar and holds law degrees from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and Galatasaray University. He speaks English, French, and Turkish fluently.
