Broadfield Appoints Jonathan Crompton Partner And Head Of Asia Disputes And Investigations

Broadfield has appointed Jonathan Crompton as Partner and Head of its Dispute Resolution & Investigations Practice in Asia as the global law firm expands its capabilities across financial services, technology, cyber and cross-border disputes.

Crompton will join Broadfield’s Hong Kong office from RPC, where he served as Partner, Hong Kong Disputes Team Lead, Head of Cyber Response for Asia and Global Co-Lead for Pro Bono.

He brings more than 20 years of experience advising on complex disputes and investigations and has spent more than 15 years working in Asia.

His practice covers litigation, international arbitration, internal and regulatory investigations, financial services disputes, civil fraud and asset recovery, fintech and technology disputes, and cyber and data privacy matters.

Crompton has also helped clients respond to more than 150 cyber incidents and their aftermath, including efforts to recover funds lost through cyberattacks and other types of fraud.

His client base includes financial institutions, asset managers, hedge funds, senior executives and high-net-worth individuals alongside fintech businesses, software companies, payment providers and online platforms.

Crompton’s experience also spans disputes before national courts and international arbitral tribunals, including HKIAC and ICC proceedings, along with investigations involving Asian financial and data privacy regulators.

The hire strengthens Broadfield’s ability to handle matters that increasingly cross traditional practice boundaries, particularly cases combining financial regulation, cybersecurity, privacy, technology and asset recovery.

Broadfield was founded in 2024 and operates through an international model combining local legal practices with shared global resources and technology.
