BRP has named Minh Thanh Tran as Chief Financial Officer, effective October 1, 2026, as longtime CFO Sébastien Martel prepares to retire.
Martel will move into the role of Executive Advisor to the CEO on October 1 and remain with the company through his planned retirement in April 2027, providing an extended transition period.
BRP described the change as part of a long-planned succession strategy.
Martel has spent more than 20 years at BRP, including approximately 12 years as CFO.
During his tenure as CFO, he helped oversee BRP’s financial strategy through a period of profitable growth and major capital markets milestones.
Martel played a central role in BRP’s 2013 initial public offering on the Toronto Stock Exchange, which was named IPO of the Year, and its subsequent Nasdaq listing in 2018.
Tran joined BRP in 2017 and has held leadership responsibilities spanning corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, transformation and product strategy.
His work has included leading implementation of a new North American ERP system, developing BRP’s M28 strategic plan, and helping establish the company’s manufacturing footprint in Asia.
Tran has also contributed to development of BRP’s product pipeline.
Before joining BRP, he worked in investment and corporate banking at Lazard and BMO Capital Markets and was involved in BRP’s 2013 IPO.
As CFO, Tran will lead BRP’s financial strategy while supporting its business priorities and long-term growth initiatives.
BRP generated CA$8.4 billion in annual sales and employed nearly 17,000 people as of January 31, 2026. Its products are sold in more than 110 countries through brands including Ski-Doo, Lynx, Sea-Doo, Can-Am, Quintrex and Rotax.
