BTG Pactual Global Alternatives, a prominent division of BTG Pactual managing $9.4 billion and dedicated to specialized alternative investments across the United States and Latin America, has announced the appointment of Craig Kennedy as a Senior Advisor. In this key role, Kennedy will concentrate on the origination of new investment opportunities and capital formation for the firm’s U.S. Private Markets strategies, specifically within the Strategic Capital (Strat Cap) and U.S. Private Credit Investments (PCI) divisions.
With a robust career spanning over 20 years in both private and public markets, Kennedy brings a wealth of experience and deep industry knowledge to BTG Pactual. His expertise lies in advising companies across various sectors, as well as in fostering long-term relationships with investors. Kennedy’s notable career includes a 15-year tenure as a partner at Allen & Company, where he worked closely with an array of innovative clients and served as a long-term board advisor. Prior to his time at Allen & Company, Kennedy held senior roles at Bank of America Securities within the Media and Telecom Group and at Gleacher NatWest, where he gained invaluable insights into capital markets.
BTG Pactual Global Alternatives’ U.S. Private Markets platform is structured to include two major components. The Strategic Capital division is dedicated to providing tailored capital solutions designed to meet the unique needs of asset-oriented businesses, while the U.S. Private Credit Investments division focuses on originating idiosyncratic, secured loans primarily within the middle and lower middle market segments. This dual strategy allows the firm to address distinct market opportunities and cater to diverse client requirements effectively.
Kennedy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University, equipping him with a strong foundation in both analytical and strategic thinking relevant to his role in alternative investments.
