STORY3 Capital Partners, alongside certain other lenders, has closed a $475 million senior secured term loan facility for Bumble Inc., the operator of dating and social connection apps, including Bumble, Badoo, and BFF. Proceeds from the term loan, combined with balance sheet cash, were used to refinance Bumble’s existing term loan.
Bumble has built one of the most recognized brands in online dating, distinguished by its female-first approach, large and loyal user base, and a product strategy centered on innovative technology and authentic human connection. STORY3 cited Bumble’s competitive differentiation across brand, network scale, and personalization capabilities as central to its conviction in the company, alongside what it described as compelling growth potential at the intersection of AI and human interaction.
The transaction represents the fifth investment in STORY3’s flagship Consumer Opportunities Fund II. STORY3 Capital Partners was founded by Peter Comisar, a former Goldman Sachs partner, and focuses on providing flexible capital solutions to founders and management teams navigating complex financing requirements.
