BusRight, an all-in-one student transportation technology platform, has raised more than $30 million in a new funding round led by Volition Capital as it looks to modernize infrastructure supporting the nation’s K-12 transportation system.
The funding will support continued investment in BusRight’s platform, including new products and services designed to address operational challenges across school transportation networks. Planned enhancements include a 24/7 AI-powered student transportation agent, hyper-local mapping intelligence, and NFC-based child safety features.
Founded by CEO Keith Corso and Chief Product Officer Phillip Dunn, BusRight provides tools that integrate routing, driver navigation, student ridership tracking, parent communication, and live GPS tracking into a single system. The platform enables transportation leaders to build routes in seconds, monitor buses in real time, and streamline communication with families.
The company is targeting longstanding inefficiencies in school transportation, where driver shortages frequently leave fleets operating at 15 to 30 percent below capacity. This often results in last-minute route cancellations, missed pickups, and increased strain on administrators and drivers. Many systems still rely on manual processes such as paper route sheets, while transportation leaders often spend extended hours managing daily disruptions.
BusRight’s platform is currently used by nearly one million parents, drivers, dispatchers, and school administrators across 36 states. The company aims to improve reliability, safety, and operational efficiency in what it describes as the largest mass transit system in the United States, responsible for transporting more than 20 million students daily.
As part of the financing, Volition Capital partner Tomy Han will join BusRight’s board of directors.
The investment comes amid growing demand for modernization in student transportation, driven by evolving regulations, increased funding for technology adoption, and heightened expectations for safety and real-time visibility.
