BusRight, a student transportation technology platform focused on modernizing school bus operations, announced it has raised more than $30 million in a funding round led by Volition Capital. The financing is aimed at upgrading infrastructure that supports the United States’ $900 billion K-12 education system, particularly the transportation networks that move over 20 million students daily.
Founded by CEO Keith Corso and Chief Product Officer Phillip Dunn, BusRight provides an all-in-one platform that integrates routing, driver navigation, GPS tracking, student ridership visibility, and parent communication. The system is designed to address persistent challenges in school transportation, including widespread driver shortages, increasing route complexity, and rising expectations from parents for real-time updates.
Across the country, transportation departments often operate with 15 to 30 percent fewer drivers than needed, leading to last-minute route cancellations and operational strain. BusRight’s platform enables transportation leaders to create routes in under a minute, monitor buses in real time, and communicate instantly with families, helping streamline operations and reduce disruptions.
The company reports that nearly one million users, including parents, drivers, dispatchers, and school administrators across 36 states, rely on its platform. School districts have also reported measurable financial and operational benefits, including significant cost savings and improved safety outcomes.
The new funding will be used to expand BusRight’s platform capabilities, including the rollout of a 24/7 AI-powered transportation agent, hyper-local mapping intelligence, and NFC-based child safety features. These enhancements are intended to further digitize and optimize one of the largest and most complex public transit systems in the country.
As part of the investment, Tomy Han, partner at Volition Capital, will join BusRight’s board of directors. The company plans to continue scaling its technology to meet growing demand for safer, more efficient, and more transparent student transportation systems.
