Butt Construction Awarded $23.6 Million Army Corps Contract For Facility Expansion And Renovation

Butt Construction has been awarded a $23.6 million firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for facility expansion and renovation work.

The contract carries a total cumulative face value of approximately $24 million and will give the Army Corps a contracting vehicle for issuing individual construction orders as facility requirements arise.

Specific work locations and funding amounts will be determined separately with each task order.

The contract has an estimated completion date of November 21, 2029.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers solicited bids for the program through the internet and received two proposals.

The Louisville District of the Army Corps is the contracting activity under contract W912QR-27-F-A007.

The IDIQ structure allows the government to assign projects over time without having to establish a separate standalone contract for each expansion or renovation requirement.

Individual orders can cover work that modifies, modernizes, expands, or otherwise improves existing facilities depending on future requirements.

Because individual task orders have not yet been issued, the $23.6 million award value represents the potential amount available under the contracting vehicle rather than a guaranteed amount of work to be performed immediately.

Funding will be determined and obligated as each order is issued.

Butt Construction, based in Dayton, Ohio, will be eligible to perform projects authorized under the contract through the scheduled 2029 completion date.

Facility renovation and expansion programs are commonly used to modernize existing government infrastructure, adapt buildings for new missions, and address changing operational requirements without constructing entirely new facilities.

The award provides the Army Corps with additional capacity to execute those types of projects while using a preselected contractor familiar with federal construction requirements.

The contract’s approximately $24 million cumulative ceiling gives the government flexibility to assign multiple projects over its duration.

The award also continues Butt Construction’s participation in federal infrastructure programs supporting military and government facilities.
