By Light Professional IT Services, a defense-focused provider of modeling and simulation and cyber products, has acquired Dignitas Technologies, an Orlando-based modeling, simulation, and training specialist that supports multiple U.S. military branches and major programs, including the F-35. Financial terms were not disclosed.
By Light said the deal expands its position in synthetic training and virtual training by adding Dignitas’ work in mission rehearsal applications and its capabilities across cyber training, virtual cyber effects, and live, virtual and constructive training in multi-echelon simulations for the U.S. Department of Defense.
Dignitas is focused on architecture-centric, agile delivery and provides system and software analysis, design, development, testing, and fielding for modeling, simulation and training environments. Its customer set spans the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps, and includes programs such as Advanced Computer-Based Training Systems (ACTS II) and Next Generation Constructive (NGC).
By Light is a portfolio company of Sagewind Capital, a middle-market private equity firm focused on defense and government technology. The company said the acquisition strengthens its broader “synthetic training ecosystem,” complementing its work on the Army’s Synthetic Training Environment and other training systems.
Support: Advisors on the transaction included STS Advisors and Shuffield Lowman for Dignitas, and Goodwin Procter and Morrison Foerster for By Light.
