C.H. Guenther Acquires Mejicano Foods To Expand North American Tortilla Manufacturing Platform

C.H. Guenther & Son announced it has acquired Les Aliments Mejicano Inc., strengthening its tortilla production and distribution capabilities across North America.

The acquisition expands C.H. Guenther’s presence in the fast-growing tortilla category by integrating Mejicano’s manufacturing scale, product portfolio, and customer relationships. The move enhances the company’s ability to serve both foodservice and retail markets, as well as private-label customers.

Based near Montreal, Mejicano Foods brings advanced production facilities and a 30-year track record of innovation in flour tortillas. The addition improves supply chain flexibility and capacity for C.H. Guenther, enabling broader geographic reach and improved service for national and regional partners.

The transaction aligns with C.H. Guenther’s strategy to invest in high-growth food categories and scale its platform through strategic acquisitions. The company, which operates more than 30 manufacturing facilities across North America and Europe, continues to expand its footprint in value-added grain-based and frozen food products.

PPC, the majority owner of C.H. Guenther, will continue to support the company’s growth strategy alongside management and co-investors.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
