C5i To Acquire Data & AI Company Datavid To Strengthen Knowledge Graph Capabilities For Agentic AI

By Amit Chowdhry • Mar 24, 2026

C5i, an AI and analytics company, announced that it has signed an agreement to fully acquire UK-based Datavid, a data and AI company specializing in graph data engineering and knowledge graph design. The transaction is expected to close by the end of March 2026.

The acquisition is aimed at strengthening C5i’s capabilities in deploying enterprise-grade generative AI and agentic AI solutions. Datavid’s expertise in transforming fragmented and unstructured data into AI-ready architectures will enhance C5i’s ability to build scalable, context-aware AI systems powered by knowledge graphs.

Headquartered in London, Datavid operates delivery teams across the United States, Romania, and India. The deal will expand C5i’s European footprint and improve its nearshore delivery capabilities, particularly in the UK and Romania.

C5i has been advancing generative and agentic AI use cases through its Agent5i platform across domains such as supply chain planning, customer analytics, product engineering, marketing optimization, and risk management. The company emphasized that the shift toward autonomous AI systems requires moving beyond traditional data pipelines to graph-based data engineering and semantic knowledge layers.

Datavid brings deep expertise in building semantic data platforms that convert siloed structured and unstructured data into connected, searchable knowledge graphs. These capabilities are particularly impactful in life sciences, where Datavid has supported clinical research, drug discovery, and regulatory processes by enabling AI-driven insights from complex scientific data.

The acquisition also strengthens C5i’s position in the life sciences sector by combining its commercial analytics capabilities with Datavid’s strengths in research and development and scientific data applications. Datavid’s clients, including life sciences companies, publishers, and financial institutions, will gain access to C5i’s broader AI and analytics portfolio.

Knowledge graphs play a critical role in enabling AI systems to understand relationships across data sources, improving reasoning, explainability, and trust in AI-driven decisions. By integrating Datavid’s technology, C5i aims to enhance its ability to deliver intelligent systems that move beyond insights to autonomous, actionable outcomes across enterprise functions.

KEY QUOTES:

“The future of enterprise AI will be driven by large language models and agentic systems that can understand and act on enterprise knowledge. Knowledge graphs provide the critical context layer that allows AI to reason across vast amounts of structured and unstructured data. This acquisition will strengthen C5i’s proposition to clients to build intelligent systems that move from insight to autonomous action in several domains, including supply chain optimization, Customer 360, risk, product engineering, and others. We will also be able to provide a holistic value proposition for the life sciences industry by combining our strength in commercial analytics with Datavid’s expertise in R&D and scientific applications.”

Ashwin Mittal, Executive Chairman of C5i

“Most enterprises have fragmented, context-poor data that limits what AI can meaningfully do with it. Knowledge graphs solve that foundational problem. They bring structure, relationships, and context to complex multi-source data, giving AI systems something they can genuinely reason over rather than just pattern-match against. Datavid has spent years helping organizations in regulated industries connect complex, multi-source data into coherent, queryable knowledge structures that AI can actually reason over. Partnering with C5i brings together complementary depth in analytics and AI implementation, and gives our clients a more complete path to AI that doesn’t just generate outputs, it supports decisions that people can understand, defend, and act on with confidence.”
