Cahill Gordon & Reindel announced that Shane McDonald has joined the firm as a partner in its London office, strengthening its European finance capabilities and ongoing international expansion.
McDonald joins the firm’s European Finance Practice, which has recently added senior talent as part of a broader push to build a leading cross-border financing platform. His arrival comes as the firm continues to invest in London as a key hub for leveraged finance and private credit work.
McDonald brings extensive experience advising financial institutions, private credit funds and institutional lenders on complex leveraged acquisition and refinancing transactions across domestic and cross-border markets. His work spans a wide range of financing structures, including syndicated covenant-lite Term Loan B facilities, unitranche financings and combined loan and high-yield bond transactions, with a strong emphasis on multi-jurisdictional deals.
He also has experience advising on data center financings, general bank lending and restructuring matters, as well as acquisition financings and direct lending transactions. Drawing on prior roles at major international law firms and in senior finance positions within private equity, he adds both technical depth and commercial insight to Cahill’s platform.
The hire follows recent additions to the London team, including senior finance partners focused on leveraged finance and real estate finance, as the firm expands its capabilities across digital infrastructure and broader financing markets.
