CAIS has raised $170 million in Series D financing at a valuation exceeding $2 billion. Vista Equity Partners was the lead participant. AllianceBernstein, Blue Owl Capital, Carlyle, Fortress Investment Group, Golub Capital, Lord Abbett and Royal Bank of Canada also invested.
The financing brings CAIS’s total capital raised to nearly $600 million. Vista President David Breach will join the company’s board, while representatives from Blue Owl, Lord Abbett, Fortress and Carlyle will become board observers.
CAIS operates a technology platform that enables independent financial advisors to access, evaluate, purchase and manage alternative investments.
The platform serves more than 2,500 wealth management firms and 65,000 financial advisors overseeing approximately $8.5 trillion in end-client assets.
During the first half of 2026, transaction volume increased 53% from the prior-year period, while total assets on the platform rose 55%.
Since 2025, CAIS has added more than 425 registered investment advisory firms and independent broker-dealers representing over $1.8 trillion in assets.
The company released more than 150 technology features during the first half of 2026.
These included tools supporting interval fund transactions, bulk order signing, structured note analysis, secondary-market transactions and selected initial public offerings.
CAIS is also incorporating AI into the advisor workflow. Its research assistant, CAISey, uses Anthropic’s Claude technology to provide conversational access to platform information and investment insights.
The company said its broader use of AI and automation increased software development throughput by 80% year over year.
CAIS plans to use the Series D funding to expand its platform, scale its technology and AI capabilities, pursue strategic opportunities and support additional growth.
