Callan announced that Pete Keliuotis, CFA, an executive vice president and head of Alternatives Consulting, has been appointed to the newly created position of Director of Public and Private Markets Research, effective June 15, 2026. In the new role, Keliuotis will report to Greg Allen, the firm’s CEO and Chief Research Officer.
As Director of Public and Private Markets Research, Keliuotis will oversee Callan’s global manager research, alternatives and real assets research, and research technology functions. He will lead a team of more than 30 public and private markets research professionals and continue to maintain an active role with clients and consulting teams. He will also retain responsibility for the firm’s alternatives consulting efforts, while Allen will continue overseeing Callan’s Capital Markets Research group.
The creation of the position reflects Callan’s efforts to enhance collaboration across its research platform, strengthen integration between research and consulting teams, and accelerate technology adoption to better serve clients’ evolving needs.
Keliuotis joined Callan in 2019 to lead the firm’s alternatives consulting practice, overseeing private equity, private credit, and hedge fund teams. He currently serves as co-chair of Callan’s Alternatives Review Committee and is a member of the Client Policy Review Committee, Management Committee, and Institute Advisory Committee. He is also a shareholder of the employee-owned firm.
Prior to joining Callan, Keliuotis served as a senior managing director at Cliffwater, where he specialized in alternatives investing for institutional clients. Earlier in his career, he was managing director and chief executive officer of Strategic Investment Solutions, where he led the general and private markets consulting teams and advised large institutional investors. He also held positions at Mercer Investment Consulting, Hotchkis and Wiley, and Northern Trust Company.
