Cambridge Aerospace Raises $300 Million Series C At $3.4 Billion Valuation Led By DFJ Growth

Cambridge Aerospace has raised $300 million in Series C funding at a $3.4 billion valuation to expand manufacturing capacity and accelerate development of its air defense technologies.

The round was led by DFJ Growth, with participation from Lux, Accel, Lakestar, Never Lift, Ora Global and Elad Gil & Co.

The financing comes only months after Cambridge Aerospace raised a $200 million Series B at a $1.3 billion valuation in April 2026.

That earlier round was co-led by Elad Gil & Co. and Spark Capital.

The latest financing more than doubles the valuation established in the Series B and will support Cambridge Aerospace as it expands manufacturing to fulfill existing and new contracts.

The company also plans to continue investing in iterative development of its existing products while bringing additional defense capabilities to market.

Cambridge Aerospace has secured several contracts from the UK Ministry of Defence since its Series B, including agreements relating to low-cost interceptors for the UK Armed Forces.

An initial contract was announced by the Defence Secretary at the London Defence Conference, followed by the Low-Cost Effectors & Autonomous Platforms, or LEAP, program in July.

The company was formed less than two years ago and is led by CEO Professor Steven Barrett, whose background is in aerospace engineering.

Its leadership team also includes CCO Chris Sylvan, a Royal Marines veteran with experience in emerging defense technologies, and Junaid Hussain, who has founded several emerging technology companies.

Cambridge Aerospace now employs more than 250 people, with approximately two-thirds working in technical and engineering roles.

The company’s workforce also includes veterans of Allied armed forces.

Cambridge Aerospace has already developed and delivered its first product, Skyhammer.

Its next product, Starhammer, is expected to reach the market in 2027 as the company continues significantly expanding its workforce.

The $300 million financing gives Cambridge Aerospace additional resources to scale production while continuing to develop lower-cost and next-generation defense systems for government customers.
