Capacity acquired a majority stake in Core Fulfilment, creating a fulfillment platform serving consumer brands across both the U.S. and U.K.
Core Fulfilment is based in Crewe, England, and has more than 15 years of experience providing e-commerce fulfillment services.
The company serves consumer brands across categories including personal care, household products, fashion, fitness, health and beauty, and pet products.
Capacity specializes in fulfillment for beauty, fragrance, wellness, and other consumer product companies.
The combination is intended to provide U.S. brands expanding into the U.K. with access to Core Fulfilment’s established operations and carrier relationships.
Core customers will gain access to Capacity’s warehouse technology, engineering capabilities, and operational systems.
Capacity said the combined platform can also provide U.K. brands with a more direct path into the U.S. market.
The acquisition comes as consumer brands face rising cross-border shipping costs and increasing expectations for faster delivery.
Capacity also holds a DOT-SP 21015 hazmat permit, which the company said is one of only 31 such permits held by fulfillment providers and supports the movement of products such as fragrance.
The companies expect their increased scale to strengthen carrier leverage while allowing clients to operate through a single fulfillment partner across the two markets.
KEY QUOTE:
“This is about building the unified fulfillment operation brands will need for the next phase of their growth. As consumer brands expand across channels and borders, they need partners that can enable them to enter new markets without added complexity.”
Jeff Kaiden, CEO of Capacity
