Capital Bank announced the appointment of Don Busick to its board leadership team, adding an executive with extensive experience in digital transformation, product management, enterprise technology, credit card operations, and customer experience.
Busick currently serves as Managing Partner at Arica, is a board member at Koalafi, and is the founder of Small Venue Music. Before those roles, he spent nearly 22 years at Capital One, where he held several senior leadership positions across digital, technology, product, and operations.
Most recently, Busick served as Executive Vice President at Capital One, leading a team of more than 5,000 associates responsible for enterprise-wide digital products and platforms. In that position, he worked with the company’s CEO, CIO, and business line presidents to develop digital transformation strategies, helped expand mobile application adoption to more than 30 million users, advanced data initiatives, and played a role in the company’s cloud transformation efforts.
At Capital Bank, Busick will provide strategic guidance as the bank continues to modernize digital capabilities across its commercial banking, mortgage, OpenSky, and specialty business operations. The company said his experience with customer-facing product innovation, large-scale digital platforms, and technology transformation will support its efforts to create more scalable and customer-centric banking experiences.
Busick earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce and resides in Glen Allen, Virginia.
Founded in 1999, Capital Bank has grown into a publicly traded financial institution with more than $3.8 billion in assets as of March 31, 2026. The bank is a member of the Federal Reserve System and the FDIC.
