Capital Group has expanded its public-private investment partnership with KKR through the launch of Capital Group KKR U.S. Equity+, marking the firms’ first integrated equity strategy and extending their collaboration beyond credit into equity markets.
Announced by The Capital Group Companies, Inc., the strategy blends public and private equity within a single portfolio, broadening retail investors’ access to private-market opportunities that have historically been limited to institutional capital. The fund will invest approximately 60% of its assets in actively managed large-cap U.S. equities, drawing on Capital Group’s long-standing fundamental research approach. The remainder will be allocated to private companies and investment opportunities pursued alongside KKR’s private equity funds, vehicles, and accounts.
The launch follows the firms’ introduction of two public-private credit strategies in 2025 and represents the next step in extending the public-private model across additional asset classes. Capital Group oversees $3.4 trillion in assets globally, including more than $2.7 trillion in equity assets, positioning equity as a foundational capability within the firm.
The strategy is structured as an interval fund, offering periodic liquidity, no accreditation requirements, and lower minimums compared to standalone alternative vehicles. The firms said the design is intended to support long-term, integrated portfolios rather than serving as a separate alternatives sleeve.
Capital Group also emphasized advisor education as a core component of the offering, providing research, portfolio construction insights, and tools to help financial professionals assess liquidity, risk, and long-term portfolio fit when incorporating public-private strategies into client portfolios.
KEY QUOTE:
Public and private markets are distinct, but they shouldn’t be thought of in isolation. U.S. Equity+ is designed around how companies grow, compete, and create value today — across both markets. By bringing high-conviction public equity and private equity together in one integrated portfolio, we’re offering investors a more complete way to participate in the evolution of the U.S. equity landscape.
