Carmelo Anthony, through his production company, Creative 7, has become a strategic partner at Utopai Studios as the companies look to expand the development of original sports and entertainment intellectual property powered by cinematic AI technology.

The partnership will focus on helping professional athletes develop, own, and scale entertainment properties across film, television, streaming, animation, and digital platforms using PAI, Utopai Studios’ proprietary cinematic storytelling AI system. Anthony and his longtime business partner and Creative 7 co-founder Asani Swann will work closely with Utopai Studios to bring athlete-driven projects and storytelling opportunities into the company’s growing entertainment ecosystem.

The initiative represents a broader push by Utopai Studios to deepen its relationships across sports and entertainment while combining AI infrastructure, production expertise, and intellectual property development with the creative vision of athletes, creators, and talent partners. The company said the collaboration is designed to give creators more direct ownership and creative control while accelerating production timelines and expanding scalability across global audiences.

Anthony said the partnership stood out because of both the technology and the company’s broader vision for storytelling. He emphasized that sports has always produced powerful human stories capable of becoming meaningful entertainment franchises, but traditional development pathways have often limited how those stories are created and distributed.

Creative 7 and Utopai Studios plan to use the partnership to develop sports-driven concepts rooted in authentic storytelling into scalable entertainment properties. The companies said the collaboration will provide athletes and creators with a more efficient infrastructure for bringing original ideas into production while maintaining creative oversight throughout the process.

According to Utopai Studios, the partnership aligns with its broader mission to build what it calls a “new studio system for the AI era.” The company said its platform is designed to preserve authorship, ownership, and creative control while integrating AI directly into professional entertainment workflows rather than treating it as a separate external tool.

One of the first projects developed under the initiative will be an anime-inspired entertainment property centered around Anthony’s world and career. The project will draw from defining moments in Anthony’s basketball journey, his personal perspective, and the broader culture surrounding the game. Initial plans include a recurring short-form series along with behind-the-scenes content tied to Anthony’s creative involvement.

The announcement follows Utopai Studios’ recent collaborations with athletes, including a project with James Harden involving an AI-animated short created with PAI. The company said the partnership with Anthony further expands its presence in sports-focused entertainment and athlete-driven storytelling.

At the center of Utopai Studios’ production ecosystem is PAI, the company’s cinematic narrative AI platform built specifically for professional entertainment workflows. The platform supports content development, visualization, scene planning, continuity management, editing, localization, and delivery. Utopai Studios said integrating AI directly into production infrastructure allows creators and studios to operate within a framework that mirrors traditional Hollywood production systems while increasing speed, efficiency, and global scalability.

The company also highlighted its expanding international footprint, including Utopai East in Korea and Utopai GmbH in Germany, as part of its efforts to build a globally connected, AI-native entertainment company.

Creative 7 continues to focus on purpose-driven storytelling across film, television, documentaries, animation, audio, and digital media. Founded by Anthony and Swann, the company aims to amplify underrepresented voices and produce projects centered around adversity, social activism, diversity, and cultural impact.

KEY QUOTES:

“We’re excited to partner with Utopai Studios. What stood out to me wasn’t just how advanced the technology is, but the vision and intention behind it. Sports has always been grounded in real human stories that can translate to powerful entertainment IP, but bringing those stories to life hasn’t always been easy. PAI changes that. It gives us a more accessible way to create and build something with long-term value.”
