Casio America has appointed Dave Shaw as Director of Marketing, marking a leadership transition as the company prepares for its next phase of growth in the U.S. market.

The appointment follows the planned retirement of Sue VanderSchans, who spent more than 30 years with the company and led its marketing communications strategy across multiple business divisions. Shaw will oversee corporate storytelling, external communications, agency engagement and executive communications as Casio continues to modernize and strengthen its U.S. operations.

Shaw joined the company in January 2021 and most recently served as Senior Manager of Digital Marketing within the Education Technology Division. In that role, he advanced strategic marketing initiatives and reinforced research-driven decision making to support Casio’s position in the evolving U.S. education market. He brings more than a decade of experience spanning consumer electronics and real estate franchising, with a data-informed, audience-first approach to brand development.

In his new role, Shaw will lead Casio America’s integrated communications strategy, aligning social media, public relations and brand messaging to ensure a consistent voice across platforms. He will also provide strategic direction for major product launches, trade shows and corporate initiatives, working closely with global leadership and agency teams to support proactive communications and issues management.

Casio America, the U.S. subsidiary of Casio Computer Co., Ltd., markets and distributes timepieces, electronic musical instruments, calculators and education technology products throughout the United States. Guided by its corporate creed of creativity and contribution, the company continues to focus on innovation and reliability as it expands its presence in the U.S. market.
