By Amit Chowdhry ● Jan 24, 2026

Catalyst Acoustics Group, the parent company of a portfolio of acoustic, seismic, vibration, and noise control brands, has promoted Charles Merrimon to chief executive officer.

Merrimon joined the organization in 2021 and most recently served as group president, a role in which the company said he helped guide Catalyst through a period of transformation and growth. Joe Lupone will support the business in a transitional advisory role to the CEO and board throughout 2026.

The company credited Merrimon with helping align strategy, accelerate growth, and foster collaboration across its portfolio as Catalyst evolved into what it described as a more cohesive, higher-performing enterprise with stronger operational discipline and a reinforced lineup of market-leading brands.

Before joining Catalyst, Merrimon spent more than a decade in senior leadership roles at IMI Critical Engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and previously served as an officer in the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
