Catalyst Bancorp, the parent company of Catalyst Bank, has completed its acquisition of Lakeside Bancshares and its wholly-owned subsidiary Lakeside Bank, effective July 14, 2026. Lakeside shareholders received $19.58 per share in cash, representing $41.1 million in aggregate consideration. The deal was announced in April 2026.
The acquisition brings together two Louisiana-based community banks with similar values and a shared focus on local relationship banking. Based on data as of March 31, 2026, the combined institution has approximately $620 million in total assets, $390 million in loans and $478 million in deposits. The transaction adds four branch locations in Calcasieu Parish to Catalyst Bank’s existing network, expanding its footprint across Southwest Louisiana beyond its traditional base in the Acadiana region of south-central Louisiana.
Catalyst Bank, formerly St. Landry Homestead Federal Savings Bank, has operated in south-central Louisiana since 1922 and had $288.5 million in assets at March 31, 2026. Lakeside Bank, the acquired entity, had assets of $375.7 million, $229.8 million in loans and $277.6 million in deposits as of the same date. Catalyst plans to convert the former Lakeside Bank’s branch and operating systems to Catalyst Bank’s platform in November 2026.
