Celera Semiconductor has closed $30 million in Series B financing fully funded by Maverick Silicon, the company’s largest investor.
The Santa Clara, California-based semiconductor company plans to use the funding to accelerate its AI-powered analog chip design automation platform and customer projects.
Celera develops analog integrated circuits using software and AI intended to reduce the cost and development time associated with custom analog semiconductor products.
The company recently acquired Silicon Gate, a Portugal-based product development and design automation team, and is expanding that operation.
Celera has also expanded its design and AI capabilities in California, increasing the range of power management applications it can address.
Its technology is built around Nesto, a patented platform described by the company as the industry’s first library of digital twins of analog functions.
Celera said the approach allows it to provide full-custom and standard analog products in a fraction of the time typically required by traditional semiconductor development processes.
Maverick Silicon, which focuses on private semiconductor growth companies and technologies supporting AI infrastructure, is a division of Maverick Capital, a global asset manager with approximately $10 billion in assets.
