Celero Communications has secured $140 million in funding to accelerate the development and deployment of its high-performance coherent DSP technology, which the company says is becoming increasingly essential as artificial intelligence infrastructure undergoes rapid global expansion. The financing includes a newly announced $100 million Series B round led by CapitalG, Alphabet’s independent growth fund, along with earlier seed and Series A investments totaling $40 million led by Sutter Hill Ventures, with contributions from Valor Equity Partners, Atreides Management, Maverick Silicon, and additional backers.

Headquartered in Irvine, Celero specializes in coherent digital signal processing solutions designed to support next-generation optical interconnects for large-scale AI systems. The company aims to solve severe performance and capacity limitations emerging in data centers as AI architectures shift from single-rack systems to deployments involving millions of accelerators and distributed compute clusters. Celero’s platform enables high bandwidth connectivity with power efficiency and cost advantages that are critical for operators facing exponential growth in model size and workloads.

The company’s founders, CEO Nariman Yousefi and CTO Oscar Agazzi, previously held senior leadership roles at Marvell, Inphi, Broadcom, and ClariPhy. Together, they have delivered multiple generations of coherent DSPs and networking ICs into global markets. Celero says its ability to unite advanced silicon design, signal processing, and system-level integration will allow it to reshape the competitive landscape for coherent optical components used in AI infrastructure.

Celero plans to use the funding to develop engineering, accelerate product development, and support customers adopting its next-generation optical interconnect solutions.
