Cellebrite, a company that develops software that unlocks and extracts data from mobile devices, announced it is buying California-based computing forensics firm BlackBag Technologies for $33 million. And this acquisition will expand Cellebrite’s portfolio of digital intelligence products.

The software developed by Cellebrite is used by businesses, law enforcement, and government agencies. And the company’s “all-in-one solution” will give customers a platform with access to all the aspects of a digital investigation. This includes offering coverage of digital data collection tools and sources like mobile devices and computers.

BlackBag Technologies CEO Ken Basore pointed out that the company is seeking to develop technologies to help its customers with their investigations. And Cellebrite’s all in one solution gives public and private businesses a unified platform with access to all aspects of a digital investigation generating critical insights.

Cellebrite was acquired by Sun Corp in 2007. And the company also received $110 million in funding from IGP Capital last year.
