Central National Gottesman has agreed to acquire Nebraska-based Omaha Paper Company through its Lindenmeyr Munroe division, expanding the company’s North American distribution network in the Midwest. The deal is expected to close at the end of October 2026.
Omaha Paper has operated as a family-owned and operated distributor for more than 60 years and recently rebranded as OPC Direct. The company specializes in paper, packaging materials and equipment, wide-format products, and janitorial and sanitation supplies. Founded in 1961, the business is now led by second-generation owners Robert and Kevin Powell.
For Lindenmeyr Munroe, the acquisition adds established customer relationships, supplier partnerships, local employees, and regional distribution expertise. The division is one of the largest independent paper merchants in the United States and serves commercial printers and other customers with paper, packaging, wide-format, and JanSan products. Management said Omaha Paper’s local position can help deepen its presence across Nebraska and surrounding Midwest markets.
Central National Gottesman is a family of companies focused on sales, sourcing, global distribution, and supply-chain services. Founded in 1886 and headquartered in Purchase, New York, CNG said it generates more than $8 billion in annual revenue and employs more than 4,800 people across 180 locations in 25 countries.
The Omaha Paper deal continues CNG’s strategy of expanding through regional distribution businesses that bring experienced teams and durable customer relationships. The company plans to combine Omaha Paper’s local expertise with Lindenmeyr Munroe’s product portfolio, technology, and broader distribution resources while maintaining service to existing customers.
The announcement also reflects a broader effort to scale the core business while preserving the operating capabilities, customer relationships, and market expertise already in place. Management’s near-term focus is on execution of the transaction or growth plan described above, integration of the relevant teams and technology, and continued investment in the products and services that support existing customers. The next phase will focus on execution, continuity for customers and partners, and scaling the core platform described in the announcement.
