Cents Acquires Insight Systems To Expand Laundry Industry Data And Reporting

By Amit Chowdhry ● Jul 15, 2026

Cents has acquired Insight Systems, a business intelligence, dashboarding, and reporting platform developed for the garment care industry. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition will integrate Insight Systems’ data and reporting capabilities into the Cents platform, providing laundromat and dry-cleaning operators with a more centralized view of their businesses.

Insight Systems’ team will also join Cents and help expand the company’s software and payments products for dry cleaners. Industry veterans Wash Respess and Joe Patalano will play leading roles in that effort.

The transaction follows Cents’ $140 million Series C financing, which closed in March 2026. Cents described the round as the largest single software investment made in the laundry and garment care industry.

Cents plans to use the additional resources to develop specialized technology for laundromats, dry cleaners, self-service businesses, route operators, and multifamily laundry providers.

Insight Systems provides business intelligence tools designed specifically for garment care operators. Its platform offers data visualization, advanced reporting, automated customer tagging, dashboards, and marketing capabilities.

The technology has recorded more than 21 million transactions across hundreds of locations throughout the United States.

Following the acquisition, Insight Systems’ reporting tools will be incorporated into Cents’ broader platform, which already provides point-of-sale software, payment technology, marketing automation, pickup and delivery management, and AI-powered customer service tools.

Cents said the integration will help operators better understand financial performance, customer behavior, transaction activity, and operational trends without relying on multiple disconnected systems.

Insight Systems can also integrate data from third-party point-of-sale systems. This capability allows operators who use different technology providers across their locations to consolidate information and monitor their entire operations from a single interface.

The companies believe this is particularly important for multi-location operators and businesses that have accumulated different software systems over time.

Rather than using generic reporting tools, Insight Systems was built around operating metrics specific to laundromats, dry cleaners, and garment care businesses.

The acquisition is also intended to accelerate Cents’ expansion within the dry cleaning market.

Cents has previously supported dry cleaners, but the company described the transaction as a significant step toward building a more comprehensive platform specifically designed for dry cleaning operations.

Wash Respess will join Cents as General Manager of Dry Cleaning and lead the company’s strategy for the sector.

Respess has experience as a dry-cleaning operator, software product developer, and founder of an industry technology company. He co-founded Insight Systems with Joe Patalano.

Patalano has spent approximately three decades developing software for dry cleaning businesses and will also join Cents following the acquisition.

Together, Respess and Patalano will help Cents add functionality for advanced dry cleaning operators while integrating Insight Systems’ reporting and business intelligence technology into the existing platform.

Cents said its dry cleaning expansion will not reduce its investment in laundromats, self-service locations, route operators, or other existing customer groups.

The company plans to build separate, specialized product experiences for each segment rather than offering a single, standardized system for every type of laundry operation.

Cents currently serves more than 5,000 garment care locations that collectively process over $1 billion in annual payments.

Its platform combines software, hardware, and payment-processing capabilities, enabling operators to manage transactions, machines, marketing, customer communication, delivery services, and business reporting through a single technology provider.

Existing Insight Systems customers are expected to continue receiving service and support without interruption during the integration process.

The companies will work to integrate their products while continuing to collect feedback from garment care businesses on additional features and operational tools.

KEY QUOTES:

“From the day we started Cents, our mission has been to give independent operators the tools to run every part of their business with confidence. We’ve always believed better decisions start with better data, and Wash, Joe, and the Insight Systems team built the best reporting and intelligence technology our industry has ever seen. Bringing Insight Systems into Cents means our laundromat customers get even more powerful tools to understand and grow their business, and it gives us the foundation to build something the dry cleaning industry has never had. This is an investment in the customers we serve today and the operators we will serve tomorrow.”

Alex Jekowsky, Co-Founder and CEO of Cents

“I’ve seen dry cleaning from every angle: as an operator, as a product builder inside the software serving this industry, and as someone who set out to build what was missing. What we built at Insight Systems is the foundation, and now, as part of Cents, we get to take it further. The industry has been waiting for this.”

Wash Respess, General Manager of Dry Cleaning at Cents

“I’ve spent nearly 30 years building software for this industry. When I met Alex and saw what Cents had built, the decision was clear. They’re not carrying legacy constraints, they have the team and capital to execute, and now we get to add the features advanced dry cleaning operations actually need, right into a platform that’s already proven with laundromats. Pair that with what Wash knows about running these businesses, and dry cleaners finally get a partner built for how they actually work.”
