Century Health, a health technology company applying AI to real-world clinical data for research and therapeutic development, announced an oversubscribed $5 million seed round led by Origin Ventures. Additional participants in the financing included InnovateHealth Ventures, 25madison, Next Play Ventures, 2048 Ventures, and Alumni Ventures, alongside strategic angel investors including Citeline founder Zorba Lieberman and clinicians specializing in nephrology, neurology, and ophthalmology.

The New York-based company said the funding will support the expansion of pharmaceutical and life sciences collaborations, growth of its specialty provider data network, and continued investment in its AI-powered data curation infrastructure.

Century Health developed the Century Health Abstraction & Retrieval Model (CHARM), an AI-powered platform designed to automate the curation and enrichment of fragmented clinical data. The company said CHARM has achieved 97% accuracy when benchmarked against clinical expert judgment, which is commonly used by pharmaceutical and research organizations to evaluate data quality for research and regulatory applications.

The platform focuses on extracting and structuring data from unstructured clinical sources such as physician notes, radiology reports, and electronic health records. Century Health said its technology generates research-ready real-world evidence datasets that can support therapeutic development, patient stratification, disease modeling, and clinical outcomes analysis.

According to the company, its provider data network expanded 60x over the past year and now includes provider groups across neurology, nephrology, ophthalmology, respiratory, metabolic, and immunology specialties. Century Health also noted that multiple top-five pharmaceutical companies are among its partners.

The company said growing demand for proprietary clinical datasets is being driven by increased AI investment across the life sciences industry, particularly as organizations seek new data sources for trial design, therapeutic development, and biomedical AI modeling.

Century Health plans to continue expanding its disease-specific registry network, deepen pharmaceutical collaborations, and enhance CHARM’s abstraction and data harmonization capabilities.

KEY QUOTES:

“Century Health is accelerating medical breakthroughs by unlocking real-world clinical data across the entire drug lifecycle, creating a win-win for providers and life sciences companies. Upstream, it’s the fuel for AI models driving discovery, disease modeling, and patient stratification; downstream, it’s the evidence needed to demonstrate safety and effectiveness, differentiate their drugs, and win payer negotiations.”

Prashant Shukla, Partner, Origin Ventures

“Structuring clinical data historically required extensive manual work that can now be automated and scaled, creating unprecedented opportunity for healthcare data infrastructure. Century Health operates with the speed the life sciences industry needs and the clinical rigor it demands. This funding lets us expand our network, go deeper into priority disease areas, and generate the critical evidence that shapes patient care.”
