Cerca Magnetics Limited announced that it has closed a £3.8 million Series A funding round to accelerate the commercialization of its next-generation brain imaging technology and expand access to more flexible, patient-friendly diagnostics.

The investment includes backing from Guinness Ventures and will support the company’s transition from development into broader clinical deployment. Cerca Magnetics is focused on advancing optically pumped magnetometer-based magnetoencephalography (OPM-MEG), a technology designed to improve how brain activity is measured and analyzed.

Over the past five years, the company has made progress across its technology, product development, and research initiatives. The new funding will enable Cerca to scale operations, strengthen technical capabilities, and continue collaborating with research partners while working toward delivering a clinically approved product.

OPM-MEG represents a shift in neuroimaging by offering a more flexible and patient-friendly alternative to traditional systems. The technology has the potential to improve accessibility and usability in clinical settings, supporting earlier diagnosis and more effective treatment of neurological conditions.

Cerca Magnetics is positioning its platform to address growing demand for advanced brain imaging solutions in healthcare systems, particularly as neurological disorders become an increasing global health focus.

The funding marks a key milestone as the company moves toward integrating its technology into routine hospital use across the United Kingdom and international markets.

KEY QUOTES:
