Cerity Partners announced its merger with Cordant Wealth Partners, an Oregon-based registered investment adviser specializing in financial planning and investment management. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The merger marks Cerity Partners’ entry into Oregon and expands its national footprint in the Pacific Northwest. Cordant Wealth Partners is headquartered in Portland and has built a specialized practice serving employees in the technology industry.
Cordant’s expertise includes financial planning around restricted stock units, employee stock purchase plans, deferred compensation, mega-backdoor Roth strategies, and equity diversification. Cerity Partners said this niche aligns with the needs of a growing segment of high-net-worth clients.
Through the partnership, Cordant clients will gain access to Cerity Partners’ broader resources and expanded capabilities. Cordant said the combination will help the firm serve clients at a higher level, especially those navigating complex technology compensation and equity decisions.
Cerity Partners was founded in 2009 and serves high- and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, business owners, and institutions. The firm provides comprehensive financial planning, investment, tax, and retirement solutions.
Cordant Wealth Partners was founded in 2010 and provides holistic financial planning and wealth management services.
