Cerity Partners announced it will merge with Verus Investments, bringing an institutional investment consulting platform into Cerity’s independent wealth and investment management business, with the combined organization operating under the Cerity Partners brand.

Verus advises institutions across the public, nonprofit, multi-employer, and corporate sectors and serves clients representing approximately $1.2 trillion in assets, according to the firm. Cerity said the combination expands its institutional footprint and deepens its ability to serve both institutional and wealth clients through a broader set of research and advisory capabilities.

The firms said the merger is designed to enhance research coverage, add talent, improve technology and data efficiencies, and expand solutions available to clients across different sizes and governance structures. Cerity framed the move as a response to the continued convergence of wealth and institutional advice, positioning the combined platform to support institutions and the leaders who oversee them with integrated fiduciary guidance.

The deal is expected to close at the end of the first quarter of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals. Houlihan Lokey advised Verus on the merger.
