Certerra RMA Group has acquired Testing Engineers, a materials testing laboratory based in San Leandro, California. The deal was announced July 30, 2026. Testing Engineers has served the San Francisco Bay Area for nearly seven decades.
Founded in 1954, Testing Engineers operates one of the most advanced laboratory facilities in Northern California. The firm provides testing and inspection services for code compliance and quality assurance. It is particularly recognized for its metallurgy and materials testing capabilities, including analysis of structural steel, bolts, and fasteners.
Testing Engineers will merge into Certerra’s existing California operations. Certerra said the acquisition strengthens its technical depth in Northern California and expands its metallurgy and materials engineering capabilities across its national platform. The added capabilities will support clients in the Bay Area and provide resources that can be leveraged across Certerra’s national network.
Certerra has unified more than 20 businesses into a national platform since 2021. The company employs more than 1,800 engineers, technicians, and scientists across more than 65 offices and laboratory facilities. Certerra is a portfolio company of OceanSound Partners.
