Cetera has recruited longtime Commonwealth Financial Network advisor David Bashaw, a veteran financial professional who joins the firm after nearly four decades with his previous broker-dealer. Bashaw, who oversees approximately $115 million in assets for clients across New England and Florida, selected Cetera Wealth Partners following interviews with nearly a dozen firms. His transition comes shortly after LPL Financial acquired Commonwealth, prompting Bashaw to evaluate new platforms for his practice.
Bashaw brings more than four decades of experience in financial services, including thirty-nine years affiliated with Commonwealth. Known for his personalized financial planning approach and long-standing client relationships, he is joining a community within Cetera’s Advisor Channel that emphasizes collaboration, cultural alignment, and business growth resources. Cetera said Bashaw will leverage its advisory platform and multi-channel ecosystem to expand service delivery and support the future growth of his practice.
The firm highlighted the significance of bringing in an advisor with such deep tenure at a single organization, noting that his choice reflects Cetera’s emphasis on community, advisor experience, and long-term value creation. Cetera, which serves approximately 12,000 advisors and institutions, reported roughly $625 billion in assets under administration and $284 billion in assets under management as of September 30, 2025.
