CFP Board: Ben Roberts Named As Managing Director Of Program Development

CFP Board has appointed Ben Roberts, CPTD, SHRM-SCP as Managing Director of Program Development, adding a longtime workplace learning and program development executive to help lead the organization’s program strategy.

In the role, Roberts will oversee the innovation, development, and delivery of programs, products, and services intended to advance the financial planning profession and support the public interest. CFP Board said its team will focus on initiatives designed to help CFP professionals deliver competent advice, comply with applicable laws, regulations, and CFP certification standards, and help candidates prepare for and pass the CFP exam. The organization also said the work will aim to enhance the value of CFP certification and reinforce CFP Board’s leadership role across the financial planning ecosystem.

Roberts brings more than two decades of experience in workplace learning, program development and stakeholder engagement across multiple industries. Before joining CFP Board, he served as Vice President, Global Human Resources and People Operations at Silverchair, where he designed and delivered executive leadership development programs. Previously, he was Senior Manager, Learning and Development, at Deloitte, where he led a team that managed leadership curricula and delivery for more than 180,000 professionals. CFP Board said Roberts also directed Deloitte’s Social Impact Portfolio, delivering programs that reached more than 8,000 veterans and transitioning service members and developing school leaders globally, impacting more than two million students.

Earlier in his career, Roberts held program and leadership development roles at The Walt Disney Co., The Coca-Cola Co. and Strategic Education.

Roberts holds an Executive MBA from West Virginia University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and human resource management from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Based in CFP Board’s Washington, D.C., headquarters, he will report to Chief Program Officer Lisa Davis. CFP Board said he joined the organization on January 30, 2026, and that Vetted Solutions assisted in the search for the newly created role.
