Champion Homes announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of Homes Direct, representing 11 retail locations across key Western U.S. markets including Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, and Oregon.

The acquisition significantly expands Champion Homes’ retail presence in the western United States and supports the company’s direct-to-consumer growth strategy. The acquired locations represent the majority of Homes Direct’s operating footprint and are closely aligned with Champion’s manufacturing and distribution network throughout the region.

Homes Direct is recognized as the largest independent manufactured and modular home dealer in the western United States. The company has built a differentiated retail model focused on providing customers with a comprehensive home-buying experience, including assistance with permitting, financing, home selection, and site preparation.

Champion said the acquisition enhances its ability to drive retail growth and increase sales penetration across strategic Western markets through Homes Direct’s retail platform and go-to-market capabilities.

Tim Larson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Champion Homes, said the companies have maintained a longstanding relationship and that the transaction represents a natural strategic fit due to their complementary operations and customer-focused approach.

The deal is expected to strengthen Champion’s retail platform while increasing access to high-quality retail locations connected to its manufacturing operations. Champion also emphasized that the acquisition supports its strategy of operating as a customer-centric and agile organization.

Homes Direct CEO Ray Gritton said Champion is the ideal long-term partner for the business and expressed confidence in the company’s ability to continue expanding the Homes Direct platform. Gritton also highlighted the shared customer-first philosophy between the companies and said the transaction would create opportunities for future growth across the United States.

The acquisition is expected to close during Champion’s second quarter of fiscal year 2027, subject to customary closing conditions and approvals. Champion added that all Homes Direct employees at the impacted locations will be offered employment following completion of the transaction.

Separately, Champion also announced its fourth quarter and full year fiscal 2026 financial results and said management will discuss both the earnings results and acquisition during a conference call and webcast.

Champion Homes is one of North America’s leading producers of factory-built housing and employs more than 9,300 people. The company operates 46 manufacturing facilities across the United States and western Canada and maintains a factory-direct retail network consisting of 84 retail locations nationwide. Its portfolio includes manufactured homes, modular homes, accessory dwelling units, park-model homes, and modular buildings serving single-family, multifamily, and hospitality markets.
