Charter Communications announced that Chris Hacker has been appointed Head of Corporate Security, succeeding Jane Rhodes, who is retiring.
In the role, Hacker will lead Charter’s Corporate Physical Security organization and oversee programs aimed at protecting employees, facilities and operations. He will also manage relationships with law enforcement and public safety agencies while helping shape the company’s security strategy across its nationwide footprint.
Hacker joins Charter after serving as Director of Corporate Security Programs, Executive Protection & Investigations at Delta Air Lines, where he oversaw global security frameworks supporting more than 200,000 employees and contractors. His responsibilities included executive protection, investigations, insider risk, crisis management and security technology initiatives.
Before joining Delta, Hacker spent more than two decades with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. During his tenure, he held several senior leadership roles, including Special Agent in Charge in Atlanta, where he directed more than 700 personnel involved in national security, intelligence, cybercrime, criminal investigations and crisis response. He also served as Deputy Assistant Director, Acting Assistant Director and Chief of Staff, helping modernize investigative and crisis response capabilities.
Hacker holds bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice and psychology from Eastern Kentucky University. He has received the FBI Medal of Excellence and the 2021 Meritorious Rank Award from the President of the United States for leadership and performance as a member of the FBI’s Senior Executive Service.
