Charterhouse Capital Partners has completed its acquisition of Animalcare Group following the animal healthcare company’s delisting from the London Stock Exchange’s AIM market. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Animalcare is headquartered in York, United Kingdom, and develops and commercializes veterinary products for companion animals, horses and production animals.
The company has approximately 150 animal health pharmaceutical brands, with core product franchises focused on dental care, equine health and pain management.
Animalcare has an established commercial presence across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
Charterhouse believes the company operates in a resilient but fragmented market supported by several long-term growth trends.
These include rising pet ownership, greater awareness among animal owners, broader access to veterinary treatments and improvements in veterinary education.
The private equity firm also identified Animalcare’s specialized product portfolio, research and development pipeline and history of strategic acquisitions as foundations for continued expansion.
Charterhouse plans to work with CEO Jennifer Winter and Animalcare’s existing management team to invest in innovation, improve operations and pursue additional acquisitions.
The partners will also focus on accelerating Animalcare’s international expansion and strengthening its product development pipeline.
The investment aligns with Charterhouse’s strategy of backing established healthcare businesses with defensible market positions and identifiable opportunities for operational and strategic value creation.
Charterhouse said Animalcare’s scientific capabilities and niche products give the business an attractive platform for long-term growth across the global animal health sector.
